Yasmin Brown from Just Eat Takeaway to discuss how she helps colleagues embrace AI

September 29, 2026

Imagine spending years training to be a veterinary surgeon, working in the field, and then realizing that your passion is really to work in tech.

That's the story Yasmin Brown will share with high school students during her talk at PreparationTech's AI Tech Skills Day event on Friday, October 2nd in Amsterdam. She joined Just Eat Takeaway.com's Early Careers Programme as a platform engineer. Three years on, she works with AI, helping non-technical teams adopt cutting-edge technologies and transform how they work.

She'll provide students with a glimpse into her daily work and how she teaches her colleagues about the potential of AI. As she says, "My work constantly evolves, and I take pride in forging a path in a space where women are under-represented."

When asked how high school students can prepare themselves to be successful in an AI-dominated world, she advises the following:

"Stay curious and get comfortable with failing. In a world dominated by AI, everything is changing rapidly. The tools you learn today may be outdated by next year, and the projects you build may not work out as planned. Every experiment, failed attempt, and tool you explore teaches you something you bring to the next project. The people who will thrive are not the ones who get everything right; they are the ones who keep asking questions, keep trying, and treat every setback as a stepping stone to the next thing."
